15. DR. EDWARD T. WALSH MATHEMATICS SCHOLARSHIP – NO APPLICATION – Awarded to a member of the Graduating Class who is judged by the vote of the teachers of mathematics to be the most proficient student in mathematics in that class.

17. COLBY W. McCARTHY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP – $500 & $300 Students planning to attend a 2 or 4 year college to further their education.
18. KRISTEN FINN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - $1000 ea. - This scholarship will be awarded to two graduating students who had Ms. Finn as a teacher.
19. TINA LEE DI CARLO MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - $250 - This Scholarship will be awarded to someone going into the medical field. Please write a 1-page paper about how you have given back to the community, why you want to go into the medical field, and something that has happened in your life that was life-changing that you managed to overcome. Please attach 3 letters of recommendation, a final transcript, and a resume.

22. BOSS ACADEMY OF PERFORMING ARTS SCHOLARSHIP - $1000 – This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating student of Boss Academy or a student who will continue his/her education in the performing arts.
23. WHITMAN POLICE ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIPS – $250 – Awarded to Whitman residents who are members of a graduating class planning to attend a 2 or 4-year college or trade school. Preference will be given to a relative or member of the Whitman Police Department. Scholarship will be given after completion of the 1st semester by providing grades or second semester bill.
24. RUTHIE CARPENTER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - $500 – This scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student attending WHRHS. (See application for further details.)
25. WHITMAN AMERICAN LEGION POST 22 - $750 & ROBERT B. CUSHMAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - $750 – The honor is awarded to deserving students residing in Whitman, attending the 12th grade, or equivalent, of a public or private school, either within or outside the limits of the town of Whitman. It will be based on the applicants’ need and/or scholarship ability, with preference given to relatives of a Legion Member, or a son or daughter of a veteran, or other qualified applicants. The American Legion is to choose the students for the scholarship. Name of veteran or member relationship must be on application.

27. DUVAL PTO SCHOLARSHIPS – All recipients must have been Duval Elementary students who attended the school through the fifth grade and were students of certain teachers. (See application for further details.) Two letters of recommendation are required.
28. CHRIS MACIVER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - $250 This award is for a WHRHS graduating senior planning to pursue his/her degree in a special education program at a 2 or 4 year college. Preference will be given to a student who has been involved with peer tutoring during high school.
29. WHITMAN MOTHER’S CLUB SCHOLARSHIP – This scholarship will be awarded to graduating students planning to attend a 2 or 4 year college to further his/her education. Students whose parents are current active members of Whitman Mother’s Club will receive top priority. In the event there are none, other applicants will be considered.
30. WHITMAN PHYSICAL THERAPY SCHOLARSHIP - $500 - Awarded to a graduating senior who plans to continue their education in the allied health profession/rehab profession (PT/PTA, OT/OTA, SPL/SPLA) Please include a 500 word essay about why you are choosing this field of study.
31. WHITMAN-HANSON YOUTH SOCCER INC SCHOLARSHIP – $500 & $250 - Whitman or Hanson residents who are high school seniors and registered for and completed two fall seasons in Whitman Youth Soccer may apply. (See application for further details.)
32. HANSON YOUTH FOOTBALL SCHOLARSHIPS – (In Memory of John Conroy & Colby McCarthy) – Awarded to graduating seniors who have participated in the Hanson Youth Football program for at least one year. The award will be made on the basis of good sportsmanship, extra-curricular and community activities. It is to be used only for payment of tuition to an institution authorized to confer a degree or to a technical school. Applicants must include a letter detailing their past association with HYF, activities in the community and future goals in life. Recipients must also be in the top 50% of their class and continuing their education in September of this year.
33. WHITMAN DEMOCRATIC TOWN COMMITTEE SCHOLARSHIP - Recipients must be Whitman residents & entering his/her freshman year of school of higher learning. If candidate is 18 years of age or older he/she MUST BE A REGISTERED VOTER. A brief essay is required stating why he/she should be considered.
34. “TED” NEWCOMB MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - $500 – This scholarship will be awarded to a SCHOLAR/ATHLETE who has been involved in Athletics. Preference to a student who participated in Track or Soccer.
35. KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS WHITMAN COUNCIL 347 MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS - $500 - Awards are to be presented to graduating seniors from the local communities who have made the commitment to continue his/her education after high school. The recipients of these awards should be good, but not necessarily superior students. The awards will be made based on scholastic record, character, community and church involvement and all-around capability of the applicant.
36. WH-HOOPS SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD – $500 – Resident of Whitman or Hanson Massachusetts. Play at least two seasons of basketball in the Whitman Jr. Pro / Whitman Sr. Pro league. Be a graduate of Whitman-Hanson Regional High School. Be attending post high school education at an accredited: college, university, or trade school. Scholarship will be awarded upon matriculation to second semester.
37. VALERIE A. CLAPP MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP – $2500 – Scholarship will be awarded to any graduating student, either from Hanson or Whitman, attending any public or private high school. Recipient must have attended INDIAN HEAD SCHOOL in Hanson. Award to be used for college or post-secondary training.
38. SOUTH SHORE VETERANS ASSISTANCE AWARD – $1000 – Scholarship will be awarded to any graduating student, committed to the Military Service in any of the branches. Students attending a military college/university and/or in the reserves are also eligible.
39. NARISSA L. CROSSCUP MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - Awarded to graduating seniors who will continue their education commencing in September of this year. Please include a one-page essay stating your goals. Scholarship will be given second semester.

41. WHITMAN & HANSON YOUTH SOFTBALL SCHOLARSHIP– $200 – This scholarship will be awarded to three graduating seniors who were involved with the Whitman or Hanson Youth Softball for 3 years or more and involved in extracurricular activities. Please include a brief essay stating your goals.
42. JASON SILVA MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - $3000 - This award will be presented to a Student/Athlete with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, who will continue his/her education with a two or four year degree. Include a brief essay about an inspirational person in your life or a life changing moment that happened in your life.

45. JOHN & AGNES PIERCE SCHOLARSHIP – $500 – Recipients must have attended the Louise A. Conley School and must be planning to continue their education in an education related field (including speech and language, occupational therapy and/or physical therapy). Community service, good character and passing grades are also factors. Must be in the top 50% of the class.
46. HANSON PTO SCHOLARSHIP - $300 – Recipient must have attended both Maquan and Indian Head Schools and plan to attend a 2 or 4 year college. Preference given to those applicants demonstrating leadership or volunteerism in Hanson and/or whose parents have volunteered in Hanson PTO.
47. HANSON STUDENT SAFETY SCHOLARSHIP – $500 - Awarded to HANSON seniors who have had interaction with youth in activities such as D.A.R.E. Grades are not criteria. This scholarship will be awarded second semester. Please include brief essay on goals and how they meet the requirements.
48. JENNIFER GERMAINE-GOYETTE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - $500 - scholarship will be awarded to 2 Whitman or Hanson seniors planning to enter the nursing profession or medical field. Please include brief essay on your goals.
49. ROSEN FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP - $400 – This scholarship will be awarded to a senior whose career choice is in the business field and has shown some community involvement.
50. WHITMAN YOUTH FOOTBALL SCHOLARSHIPS - Qualifications for these scholarships are as follows:
1) Years in youth football
2) Years helped out after leaving
3) Years in high school football and cheerleading
4) Going on to higher education

51. COURTYARD CAFÉ CULINARY ARTS SCHOLARSHIP - Recipient must be a member of the “Running a Restaurant” Class at Whitman-Hanson Regional High School and be accepted into a culinary arts/restaurant management program in college.
52. THE WHITMAN REPUBLICAN TOWN COMMITTEE: DOROTHY BENNER SCHOLARSHIP FOR EDUCATION - $200 - Requires a short essay about the student’s goals. Not required but an interest in majoring in political science or government will be also weighed in the decision.
53. HANSON FIREFIGHTERS LOCAL 2713 - $500 - Recipients must be residents of Hanson or Whitman. Preference will first be given to a member’s son or daughter and secondly to any firefighter’s child or relative of a firefighter. Preference will then be given to students who are interested in taking fire science courses in college.
54. KEVAN JOYCE, CLASS OF 1986 MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP- 3 @$1000 each. This scholarship is for a business major, student athlete. Please include a brief essay about someone who has motivated you and is your role model.
55. OFFICER GERRY MONT MEMORIAL D.A.R.E. SCHOLARSHIP- $250 - Preferred graduate of the D.A.R.E. Program.
56. BLUESTONE BANK SCHOLARSHIP – $1,500 - The scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who is continuing his/her education at an accredited institution of higher learning. Preference will be given to the student pursing a degree in Business, Management, Finance, Accounting, and Information Technology. The following criteria will be considered: Financial Need, Academic Performance and Citizenship/Volunteerism.
57. WILLIAM J. EGAN SR. SCHOLARSHIP - All encouraged to apply. Students with special interests such as performing arts are specifically encouraged to apply.
58. GLENN WARD WH GIRLS SOCCER SCHOLARSHIP - $1000 - Applicants must have at least a minimum of two years in the WH girls soccer program, Demonstrates good citizenship, Volunteer participation in school and/or town activities, Attending a two or four year college.
59. HANSON YOUTH BASKETBALL SCHOLARSHIP– In Memory of Amy Patturelli - $500 - Awarded to a Hanson graduate who has participated in Hanson Youth Basketball. Must be in top 50% of the class; given second semester. Please include brief essay on goal
60. HANSON CHEERLEADING SCHOLARSHIP – This will be awarded to one or two students who cheered in the Hanson Youth Cheerleading Program and plan to continue their education. Please include a short essay on what the cheerleading program meant to you along with a transcript and 2 recommendations.
61. MICHAEL WOJDAG MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - Awarded to a graduating senior who plans to attend a two or four year college. This scholarship will be given to a student who emulates traits that were important to Mike such as kindness, compassion, and helping others.
62. THOMAS & MARJORIE ADAMS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - $400 – This scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior pursuing a nursing or teaching degree.
63. WHITMAN HIGH/W-H REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP - $500 - Scholarship will be awarded to a WHRHS senior who has had one or both parents graduate from Whitman High/Whitman-Hanson Regional High School. Recipient must be planning to attend a two or four-year college.
64. AL & JAN HORKEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - $500 - This award is given to one senior attending a vocational/trade or certificate program beginning within three months of graduation. Students who have received academic support from an IEP and/or 504 are strongly encouraged to apply.
65. HANSON POLICE RELIEF ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP – $500 – Awarded to HANSON residents planning to attend a two or four year accredited college in September of this year, preferably majoring in criminal justice or law enforcement. Preference is also given to a member or relative of a Hanson police officer. Applicant must be in the top 50% of the class. Brief essay is required.
66. ROCKLAND HANSON ROTARY CLUB SCHOLARSHIP - $1000 - Scholarship will be granted to graduating students (one from Whitman and one from Hanson) who reflect Rotary International’s motto of “Service Above Self” and demonstrate active involvement in community service. Applicants planning to attend a post-secondary school including trade/vocational school will be considered as well as vocational student applicants requiring tools and equipment for their profession and/or training.
67. SONS OF WHITMAN AMERICAN LEGION SQUADRON 22 SCHOLARSHIP- $500 – This honor is awarded to deserving student residing in Whitman, attending the 12th grade, or equivalent, of a public or private school, either within or outside the limits of the town of Whitman. It will be based on the applicant’s need and/or scholarship ability, with preference given to a relative of Legion Member, a son or daughter of a veteran, or other qualified applicants. Please include transcript and two recommendations 1) a teacher and 2) any non-family, non-school related adult. Please list your course of study along with college choices as well as work and community activities.

WHITMAN-HANSON THEATRE ARTS SCHOLARSHIP – This scholarship is open to any graduating member of the Drama Club who has been an active participant in the club’s activities, community service and success of the Drama Club. Preference given based on years of participation, etc. Statement to be attached per instructions on application.

73. JP DRIER "FIND A WAY" MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - $250 Awarded to a member of the senior class of Whitman-Hanson Regional High School who has been able to "find a way" through any challenge they have faced. The recipient must attend a two or a four-year college in the September following graduation.

75. WALTER E. TOBIN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - $2000 -- Awarded to a graduating student from Whitman-Hanson Regional High School who has been accepted to a State Maritime Academy. Applicant must possess a 3.0 GPA. Must show involvement in a varsity sport-preference given to a varsity letter. Must show community involvement and/ or involvement in club/ activities. Must reside in Whitman or Hanson. Scholarship will be given after completion of the 1st semester of college reflecting a full-time semester (minimum 12 credit hours) by providing a minimum passing 2.0 GPA grade report.
76. ROCKET RILEY REDEMPTION PROJECT - $250 - Applicant must have demonstrated a commitment to working with and supporting the special needs community.
77. PEMBROKE YOUTH HOCKEY JOSEPH BIROLINI AND WILLIAM HICKEY SCHOLARSHIP - $1500 - Applicant must be a member of any high school’s 2022 graduating class. Has played at least 1 year in good standing as a player of Pembroke Youth Hockey. Enrolled in an institution of higher education. Include a minimum 500 word essay (topics and more information on the application).Letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach, or mentor. DUE APRIL 1, 2024.
